Explosion at Islamabad Police Station

An explosion occurred at the outer wall of a police station in the I-9 area of Islamabad, Pakistan. Fortunately, no one was injured as the explosion was not very powerful. Initially, a duty officer mistook the sound for a tyre burst. The police are investigating the incident and have collected metal pieces from the site.

Previous Incidents in Pakistan

In 2022, a similar explosion at a police station in the I-10 area resulted in one death and several injuries. On December 25, 2024, a police officer named Head Constable Wazir Zada was killed by terrorists in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The attack occurred in the Ahmedzai Sub-division Wazir police station area.

Earlier, a police officer was killed and a polio worker injured in Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during an anti-polio drive. The attackers fled, and additional police forces were sent to the scene.

Tragic Incidents Involving Children

On December 2, 2024, three children died when a mortar shell exploded in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The children were playing with the shell when it exploded. Similarly, on November 30, 2024, three children were killed and five injured in Lower Kurram Tehsil when a live mortar shell exploded while they were playing.
