Israel's New Transportation Terminals in Haifa and Northern Districts
The Ministry of Transportation in Israel has given the green light to a plan for three new advanced transportation terminals in the Haifa area and Northern districts. These terminals will be located in Ma'alot Tarshiha, Kfar Kana, and Harish.
Ma'alot Tarshiha Terminal
The terminal in Ma'alot Tarshiha will be an integrated facility serving 3 urban lines, 6 regional lines, and 7 intercity lines. It will also feature an overnight parking lot with 110 bus spaces, including charging stations to support green public transportation.
Kfar Kana Terminal
In Kfar Kana, the terminal will be situated in the northern industrial area and will function as an operational hub without passenger services. It will support 7 urban and regional lines in the Nazareth area.
Harish Terminal
A new terminal in Harish will cater to both existing and new urban and regional lines, supporting the city's development.
In 2022, Israel saw 853 million public transportation trips, with buses accounting for 87% of these journeys. The plan anticipates that buses will remain a key component of public transportation, even with the introduction of new systems like light rail and metro.
