In a tragic incident near Turbat, Balochistan, 47 security personnel lost their lives and over 30 were injured in a suicide attack by the Baloch Liberation Army's (BLA) "Fidayee unit" Majeed Brigade. The attack targeted a Pakistani army convoy on its way from Karachi to the Frontier Corps headquarters in Turbat.
Details of the Attack
The attack occurred in the Behman area, approximately eight kilometers from Turbat city, at around 5:45 pm local time. The convoy consisted of 13 vehicles, including five buses and seven military vehicles. The BLA claimed that one bus was completely destroyed, others were partially disabled, and one military vehicle was demolished.
Statement from BLA
BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch stated that the attack was coordinated with the help of their intelligence wing, "ZIRAB," which provided information about the convoy's movement. The attacker, identified as "Fidayee Sangat Bahar Ali," was part of the Baloch national movement since 2017 and volunteered for the mission in 2022.
BLA's Accusations and Warnings
The BLA accused Pakistani forces of torturing Baloch people and warned transport owners against aiding the army. They threatened to make Balochistan's highways unsafe for the army and investors, urging civilians to avoid state convoys.
