NIA Searches in West Bengal Uncover CPI (Maoist) Conspiracy

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches in multiple locations across West Bengal, targeting a CPI (Maoist) conspiracy to revive its presence. The searches took place in South 24 Pargana, Asansol, Howrah, Nadia, and Kolkata, leading to the seizure of incriminating documents and electronic devices.

The suspects were believed to have assisted CPI (Maoist) commanders in carrying out Naxal activities. The case, registered in April 2022, involves a conspiracy by Polit Bureau and Central Committee members of the banned organization to expand their ideology in Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, and other regions.

So far, six individuals, including key CPI (Maoist) members Prashant Bose, Pramod Mishra, and Sabyasachi Goswami, have been arrested. Further investigations are underway.
