Tibetan delegation in Denmark highlights China's repressive policies during advocacy visit
Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Advocates for Tibet in Denmark
A delegation from the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, including members Geshe Monlam Tharchin, Namgyal Dolkar Lhagyari, and Konchok Yangphel, began their advocacy tour in Denmark. They met with the Danish Parliament, Folketinget, to discuss resistance to China's policies. Sascha Faxe MP, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, welcomed them and emphasized Denmark's commitment to human rights.
Namgyal Dolkar Lhagyari presented on the impact of China's policies in Tibet, highlighting the forced assimilation of Tibetan children and environmental issues caused by mega dams. The delegation urged Denmark to take concrete actions in support of Tibet.
Faxe praised the Dalai Lama's leadership and the democratic model of the Tibetan exile community. The delegation also met with officials from the Danish Institute of Parties and Democracy to discuss promoting Tibet's democratic model globally.
The visit aims to increase international awareness of Tibet's struggles under Chinese rule and seek stronger support for Tibet's rights and democratic aspirations.
