Jake Sullivan's Visit to India Strengthens US-India Strategic Partnership
Washington DC, January 17: The US National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, recently addressed the Board of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) following his visit to India. During his visit, Sullivan engaged in productive discussions with Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Modi, Indian NSA Ajit Doval, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
Sullivan highlighted the comprehensive partnership between India and the US, emphasizing initiatives launched during the Biden Administration. He prioritized his visit to India to discuss a range of initiatives covering defense, technology, cyber and maritime security, and economic collaboration, all aimed at enhancing mutual interests and contributing to a secure Indo-Pacific region.
Under Sullivan's leadership, the India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) has been strengthened. This initiative, launched in 2022, has led to the creation of the India-U.S. Defense Acceleration Ecosystem (INDUS-X), which fosters defense collaboration with the private sector and innovation ecosystems.
Mukesh Aghi, President and CEO of USISPF, praised Sullivan's role in advancing US-India relations, highlighting his leadership in technology and defense cooperation. Aghi expressed gratitude for Sullivan's commitment to deepening strategic ties.
Sullivan emphasized that the India-US relationship is in a strong position and encouraged the incoming team to continue building on this agenda. The USISPF, a key institution in strengthening US-India ties, expressed appreciation for Sullivan's efforts.
