Union Minister Pabitra Margherita Delivers Water Tanks to Palau
On January 17, Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, visited Palau to hand over 12 high-temperature-resistant water tanks to the government. This initiative is part of the 12 Point Action Plan announced by Prime Minister Modi at the FIPIC III Summit in May 2023 in Papua New Guinea. Margherita expressed his satisfaction with the contribution, emphasizing its role in enhancing Palau's water supply system.
Attending the Presidential Inauguration
During his visit, Margherita attended the inauguration ceremonies of Surangel Whipps Jr, who began his second term as President of Palau, and "Arnold" Oilouch, the new Vice President. He conveyed greetings from India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu to the new government of Palau.
Meetings with International Leaders
Margherita also met with Takeshi Iwaya, Japan's Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Kalani Kaneko, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Marshall Islands. Additionally, he met James Marape, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, reaffirming India's commitment to strengthening partnerships in the Indo-Pacific region.
