Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently met with Japan's Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, Akiko Ikuina, to discuss opportunities for Indian youth, especially from Assam, in Japan. At the summit, CM Sarma highlighted Assam's economic growth, stating that the state's GSDP is expected to reach USD 85 billion next year, with a target of USD 143 billion by 2030. He also mentioned a USD 12 billion infrastructure upgrade plan and USD 4 billion in private investments secured for 2024.
CM Sarma invited leaders to the next Advantage Assam Summit and met with business leaders like Pravin Chaudhuri from Kansai Paints and Yusuke Kakimoto from Enrission India Capital to explore opportunities in Assam's market and startup ecosystem.
