Delhi High Court Grants One Month Bail to Ashok Vihar Triple Murder Convict Nakul Khari

The Delhi High Court has recently granted one month of interim bail to Nakul Khari, who was convicted in the Ashok Vihar triple murder case. In this case, three men were convicted for the murders of two women and one man in Delhi’s Ashok Vihar area in 2010.

Khari has been in custody for more than 14 years. The Division Bench of Justices Prathiba M Singh and Amit Sharma granted interim bail to Nakul Khari for one month, considering the long period of incarceration. The trial court had convicted Nakul Khari along with Ankit Chaudhary and Mandeep Nagar in September 2023 and awarded a sentence of December 19, 2023. His appeal is pending before the High Court.

Advocate Amit Rana moved a petition on behalf of Nakul Khari seeking suspension of the sentence and his release on bail during the pendency of the appeal. The counsel submitted that interim bail is being sought on humanitarian grounds as Khari has already undergone incarceration for about 14 years and one month. It was also submitted that Khari’s brother-in-law passed away on February 12, and he wishes to spend some time with his mother and sister.

The Delhi police filed a status report after verifying the address of Khari’s sister. In this case, a married couple, Kuldeep and Monika, and another woman, Shobha, were killed.
