UAE and Uganda Partner to Build Eye-Care Hospital in Entebbe
Under the guidance of President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE and Uganda have signed an agreement to construct a specialized eye hospital in Entebbe, Uganda. This initiative, overseen by Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, involves a USD 20 million investment.
The agreement was signed by Sultan Mohamed Al Shamsi from the UAE and Vincent Bagiire Waiswa from Uganda. Theyab bin Mohamed emphasized the UAE's commitment to global healthcare and its humanitarian mission to support development and stability worldwide. This project is part of a broader effort to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in Africa.
Erth Zayed Philanthropies plans to establish 10 specialized hospitals over the next decade to serve underserved communities. Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan highlighted the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and Uganda, noting that the hospital will benefit thousands of patients with eye conditions and improve healthcare infrastructure.
