Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu Meets Bill Gates at World Economic Forum
During the World Economic Forum summit in Davos, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met with Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Their discussion focused on transforming Andhra Pradesh into a global hub for health, education, and innovation. CM Naidu proposed a Centre of Excellence for Health Innovation and Diagnostics in the state, aiming to enhance public health through cutting-edge services.
Additionally, CM Naidu invited Bill Gates to join the advisory board for a proposed Artificial Intelligence University in Andhra Pradesh, which seeks to lead in AI research and development. The Chief Minister expressed interest in implementing successful programs from the Gates Foundation, such as health dashboards, to address local challenges effectively.
CM Naidu also met with Willem Uijen, Chief Supply Chain Officer of Unilever, discussing the potential for Unilever to expand in Andhra Pradesh with a palm oil industry investment of INR 330 crore. He highlighted Visakhapatnam as a prime location for a technology center related to Unilever's beauty products.
In another meeting with Roberto Bocca from the World Economic Forum, CM Naidu sought support for attracting global investments in green hydrogen, battery storage, and solar manufacturing, as well as establishing a Clean Energy Knowledge and Skill Development Center in Andhra Pradesh.
