External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington DC. Jaishankar mentioned that they followed up on the Delaware bilateral and Quad meetings. They discussed deepening bilateral cooperation, the situation in West Asia, recent developments in the Indian subcontinent, the Indo-Pacific, and Ukraine.

US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that Blinken and Jaishankar talked about the United States and India’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties, coordinating on regional and global challenges, and advancing cooperation on critical and emerging technologies. Blinken highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kyiv and stressed the importance of a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.

They also discussed plans to expand collaboration on clean energy initiatives to address the global climate crisis. During the meeting, Blinken condemned Iran’s attack on Israel, calling it ‘totally unacceptable’ and reaffirmed US support for Israel. He stated that the US and its partners successfully repelled the attack and will continue close communication with Israel.
