Rajnath Singh Criticizes Rahul Gandhi Over Agniveer Yojana Claims
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a strong attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of misleading the public about the Agniveer Yojana. Singh stated that the scheme was introduced after extensive discussions and is similar to practices in countries like Britain, the US, Israel, Russia, and China.
Singh clarified that Agniveers receive Rs 12 lakh under a one-time Seva Nidhi package and an ex-gratia amount of Rs 44 lakh. He also mentioned that 25% of Agniveers will serve in the army on a regular basis, while others will have reservations in government jobs in states like UP, Haryana, Rajasthan, Odisha, and Goa.
Additionally, Singh stated that families of Agniveers killed during service will receive Rs 1.5 crore, and Agniveers are provided with insurance of Rs 50 lakh to 1 crore without paying any premium.
Singh expressed confidence in BJP’s ability to form the government in Haryana for the third consecutive term, predicting that the party will win more seats than in the previous election. Haryana will go to the polls on October 5, with counting set for October 8.
