PM Narendra Modi and President Putin Strengthen India-Russia Ties in Moscow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Russian President Vladimir Putin, visited the Rosatom Pavilion at the VDNKh Exhibition Centre in Moscow. The two leaders warmly greeted each other and toured the pavilion, where PM Modi interacted with officials.

The Rosatom Pavilion is a modern complex dedicated to nuclear energy. During his two-day visit to Russia, PM Modi laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow, honoring the bravery and sacrifice of soldiers.

PM Modi addressed the Indian community in Moscow, discussing the strong ties between India and Russia and the contributions of the Indian diaspora. He announced the opening of Indian Consulates in Kazan and Yekaterinburg, emphasizing the importance of these new establishments.

Highlighting the special relationship between India and Russia, PM Modi expressed his admiration for the mutual trust and respect that has built a strong foundation for their friendship. He praised Russian President Vladimir Putin for his efforts in strengthening the partnership over the past two decades.

PM Modi also spoke about India’s achievements, including its advancements in space exploration, digital transactions, and the startup ecosystem. He noted that people from abroad can see the transformation in India.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, and India’s Ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, accompanied PM Modi during the visit. Earlier, PM Modi and President Putin held an informal meeting at the President’s House. This visit marks the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit, with PM Modi receiving a ceremonial welcome at the airport.
