PM Modi and President Macron's High-Level Talks in France

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited France for the AI Action Summit, where he engaged in significant discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders held high-level talks aboard the French presidential aircraft, a gesture that Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri described as reflecting deep personal trust between them.

Misri emphasized the importance of this dialogue, noting that it symbolized the strong relationship between India and France. After a CEO's forum meeting, PM Modi and President Macron traveled together to Marseille, continuing their discussions on various issues. These talks extended into a dinner hosted by President Macron in honor of PM Modi.

During his three-day visit from February 10-12, PM Modi participated in events related to Artificial Intelligence, commerce, energy, and cultural connections. He co-chaired the AI Action Summit, which included world leaders and global tech CEOs.

Following his visit to France, PM Modi arrived in the United States at the invitation of US President Donald Trump. He was welcomed by India's Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, and other officials at Joint Base Andrews in Washington DC. This marked PM Modi's first visit to the US since President Trump began his second term.

Upon arrival, PM Modi was greeted by members of the Indian diaspora at Blair House, where he will stay during his visit. The US flag at Blair House was replaced with the Indian flag as a symbolic gesture. PM Modi expressed gratitude to the diaspora for their warm welcome.

Since November 2024, PM Modi and President Trump have communicated twice by phone. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar attended President Trump's inauguration and met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during the QUAD Foreign Ministers' meeting in January 2025.
