Pakistan's passport has been ranked as one of the weakest globally, securing the 103rd position in the Henley Passport Index 2025. This marks a slight improvement from the previous year when it was ranked 104th. The index, which evaluates 199 countries based on visa-free travel access, shows Pakistan offering visa-free entry to only 33 countries, sharing its rank with Yemen.
In contrast, Singapore leads the index, allowing visa-free access to 195 countries. Japan and several European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, follow closely with access to 192 destinations. Countries like Finland and South Korea have also seen a drop in their rankings.
Pakistan's low ranking highlights the challenges its citizens face in global mobility and raises concerns about the country's diplomatic relations. The Henley Passport Index, using data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), emphasizes the growing divide in global travel opportunities.
Other countries with weaker passports than Pakistan include Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan, while nations like Somalia, Nepal, Palestine, and Bangladesh rank just above Pakistan. Somalia is positioned at 102nd, just one spot ahead of Pakistan.
