Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Minister for Railways, Information and Broadcasting, Electronics and Information Technology, expressed his pride after meeting global delegates at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. During the event, a significant investment plan was discussed, where the Railways will invest Rs 73,000 crores in Odisha. The meeting, attended by Odisha Chief Minister Madan Mohan Majhi, focused on project details, land acquisition, and forest approvals.
Transforming Odisha into an IT Hub
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to transform Odisha into a major IT hub. A conference named 'Uttakarsh Odisha' will soon be held to discuss bringing the IT industry to the state. This initiative aims to create new opportunities in fields like semiconductors, electronics, IT, IoT, machine learning, and Industry 4.0 for the youth of Odisha. The Chief Minister has proposed establishing a campus of Nihillet University in Odisha.

Vaishnaw also discussed plans to connect Odisha with other tourist destinations through improved railway links. He suggested establishing a world-class university in Bhubaneswar and enhancing connectivity to attract more visitors to events like the Mahakumbh.
