The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) announced a significant increase in visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations in 2024. The number of overnight visitors reached over 1.32 million, marking a 15% rise from 2023. This growth highlights Jordan's appeal as a top destination for Gulf travelers.
Visitors from the GCC are staying longer, exploring Jordan's diverse attractions. This trend was especially noticeable during summer and major holidays, with many travelers visiting multiple destinations within Jordan.
Saudi Arabia was the largest source of visitors, with 1.158 million overnight stays, a 17% increase from 2023. July and August saw peak arrivals, with 156,400 and 141,007 Saudi visitors, respectively.
Kuwait was the second-largest source with 72,784 visitors. The UAE saw an 11% increase to 18,378 visitors. Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman also contributed significantly, with Oman showing a 12% growth.
Dr. Abdelrazzak Arabiyat, Managing Director of JTB, emphasized the strong cultural and tourism ties between Jordan and the Gulf nations, attributing the growth to strategic tourism initiatives.
