IFFCO MD US Awasthi Meets Union Minister JP Nadda to Discuss Nano Fertilisers in Delhi
New Delhi [India], August 21: Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) MD US Awasthi met with Union Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister JP Nadda at his office in the national capital. During the meeting, Awasthi briefed Minister Nadda about IFFCO and its services for farmers and soil.
Awasthi emphasized that IFFCO is the largest producer of Phosphoric and Urea fertilisers in India, serving farmers through a cooperative channel. He also introduced IFFCO’s world-first Nano Fertilisers, including Nano Urea Plus Liquid and Nano DAP Liquid.
Awasthi discussed IFFCO’s Agri Drone Rural Entrepreneurs program, which has trained over 1700 rural entrepreneurs to spray Nano Fertilisers across the country. He also mentioned the IFFCO Nano Model Village initiative, covering over 800 villages to promote Nano Fertilisers.
He assured that IFFCO, ranked Number 1 Cooperative in the world among the top 300 Cooperatives, is committed to the farmers and soil of India. In July, IFFCO launched the Nano Fertiliser Usage Promotion Mahaabhiyan, selecting 200 model nano village clusters and providing a 25% subsidy on Nano Urea Plus, Nano DAP, and Sagarika fertilisers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a 100-day action plan to increase the use of nano fertilisers in agriculture. This plan includes 1270 demonstrations of Nano DAP (liquid) in 413 districts and 200 trials of Nano Urea Plus (liquid) in 100 districts, assisted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, State Agricultural University, and other research institutions, and monitored by the Union Government. Nano fertilisers will be available at each Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samridhi Kendra (PMKSK).
