Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], September 26: A state-level Vigilance and Monitoring Control Committee meeting was held in Gandhinagar under the chairmanship of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. This committee was established in accordance with the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Rules, 2018.
The Committee members praised the state government's commendable efforts in implementing various welfare schemes for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and backward classes. Notable programs include the Manav Garima Yojana, Baba Saheb Ambedkar educational Loan for overseas studies, and Samras Hostels, which provide accommodation for students from rural areas pursuing education in cities.
The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai, Tribal Development Minister Kuber Dindor, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Bhanuben Babariya, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, and Chief Secretary Raj Kumar. The elected MLAs and MPs from the reserved seats for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, including Jasvantsinh Bhabhor, Prabhubhai Vasava, Vinodbhai Chavda, Dinesh Makwana, and others, also participated in this meeting.
