On October 2, Shimla in Himachal Pradesh witnessed a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 155th birth anniversary and Lal Bahadur Shastri on his 120th birth anniversary. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Congress State President Pratibha Singh, Shimla MLA Harish Janartha, and other dignitaries gathered to honor these great leaders.

Governor Shukla paid floral homage and spoke about Gandhi’s pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle, emphasizing his principles of non-violence and simplicity. He also praised Shastri’s famous slogan, ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan,’ which united soldiers and farmers.

Pratibha Singh highlighted the global legacy of Gandhi and Shastri, urging everyone to follow their path of peace and non-violence. PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh echoed this sentiment, calling for collective dedication to nation-building.

Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat in the national capital. PM Modi emphasized Gandhi’s lasting impact on truth, harmony, and equality in a heartfelt post on X.
