Chennai, Tamil Nadu – On Saturday, several workers of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) were detained by Chennai Police for protesting outside the hospital where the body of slain BSP leader K Armstrong was brought for an autopsy. The protest caused a major traffic jam as supporters sat on the road and broke barricades in an attempt to enter the hospital premises.

Details of the Incident

K Armstrong, the Tamil Nadu BSP Chief, was tragically hacked to death by unidentified men near his residence in Perambur, Chennai. The protestors gathered outside the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital mortuary, demanding an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the resignation of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.

Reactions and Statements

BSP Supremo Mayawati announced her plans to visit Chennai to pay tribute to Armstrong and meet his grieving family. She urged everyone to maintain peace and order and demanded immediate action from the state government to prevent such incidents in the future.

Chennai police have detained eight suspects and formed a special team to investigate the murder. CM MK Stalin expressed his grief and condolences to Armstrong’s family and assured that the police would bring the culprits to justice swiftly.
