The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), a prominent human rights organization in Pakistan, has raised concerns about military operations and enforced disappearances affecting the Baloch people. According to a recent post by the BYC, the Pakistani military forces have launched a severe operation in the areas of Ganz and Panwan in Jewani, Gwadar. The military reportedly surrounded these towns, conducted home raids, harassed civilians, and abducted over 18 individuals.
Among those abducted are Sajjad, son of Wajul, and Zareef, son of Shakeel, who were taken near Ganz Hotel. While some individuals have been released, others, including Shahjan Shahdad, Hassan Aziz, Sameer Abdul Hameed, Imran Mohammad, and Zaheer Imam, remain missing.
In response to these events, the BYC and families of the victims organized protests across Balochistan, demanding justice for Zareef Umar and Naveed Hamid, who were allegedly killed by Pakistani security forces. The protests began in Turbat with a rally at Fida Chowk and included a march through the city's main areas, culminating outside the Deputy Commissioner's office. Protesters carried placards and chanted slogans, calling for an end to human rights violations.
The BYC has appealed to the global community and human rights organizations to speak out against what they describe as the ethnic cleansing of the Baloch people.
