AK Antony Donates Rs 50,000 for Wayanad Landslide Victims

Senior Congress leader AK Antony has donated Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to help the victims of the Wayanad landslides, which claimed over 300 lives. Antony urged people in and outside Kerala to contribute generously to the relief fund. He also called on the central government to provide maximum support to those affected.

Search Operations in Wayanad

A special team, including six trained Army personnel, four Special Operation Groups of Kerala Police, two Forest Officers, and a dog squad, has been deployed to the Sunrise Valley of Soojippara waterfalls in Wayanad to conduct search operations. Superintendent of Police, SOG, Taposh Basumatary, mentioned that the team aims to cover more areas downstream.

Kerala CM Promises World-Class Rehabilitation

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan assured that the government would ensure world-class rehabilitation in the landslide-hit areas of Wayanad. He highlighted that government employees and teachers have pledged to contribute at least 5% of their salary to the disaster relief fund. From July 30 until Monday, the fund has received Rs 53.98 crores.
