Patna (Bihar) [India], October 2: Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jan Suraaj and a well-known election strategist-turned-politician, has called on the people of Bihar to raise the ‘Jai Bihar’ slogan loudly. He wants the voice to reach Delhi, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu, where Bihari children have faced abuse and mistreatment.

Prashant Kishor emphasized, “You all need to say ‘Jai Bihar’ so loud that no one calls you and your children ‘Bihari’ and it feels like abuse. Your voice must reach Delhi. It must reach Bengal, where students from Bihar were beaten. It must reach Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and Bombay wherever Bihari children were abused and beaten.”

Jan Suraaj is set to be officially launched as a political party soon. On September 27, the Bagdogra police in West Bengal arrested two individuals for allegedly threatening and harassing two youths from Bihar who had come to Siliguri for an exam. The incident gained widespread condemnation after a video of the youth went viral on social media.

Earlier, on September 30, Prashant Kishor stated that he does not wish to become the leader of the party. He mentioned that the party’s agenda for Bihar would be released in January or February next year. He highlighted the need for a better political alternative in Bihar, free from the fear of existing political parties.

“At the beginning of the Jan Suraaj campaign, it was said that an important aim of this is to end the political helplessness under which in the last 25-30 years people voted for the BJP out of fear for Lalu Prasad out of fear for the BJP due to the lack of any alternative. For this, it is important for people of Bihar to form a better alternative…That alternative should be a party of all the people of Bihar who want to form this together,” Kishor explained.

He added that more than 1 crore people in Bihar would formally announce the party on October 2. The party’s name, constitution, provisions, and leadership will be revealed. Kishor reiterated that he does not want to be the party leader.

He further encouraged people to vote for their children’s education and employment rather than under pressure from misguided leaders. The party’s agenda and vision for Bihar will be released in February and March 2025. Kishor’s dream is to make Bihar a state where people from Jharkhand and Haryana come to work.

In July, Prashant Kishor announced the launch of the new political party on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2. The Bihar assembly elections are expected to be held in October-November 2025.
