Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Mumbai to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new Maharashtra government. Before the ceremony, Devendra Fadnavis visited Shree Siddhivinayak Temple and Shree Mumbadevi Temple. The ceremony will see Fadnavis sworn in as Chief Minister, with Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde likely to become deputy chief ministers.
The Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024 resulted in a significant victory for the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance, which won 235 seats. The BJP emerged as the largest party with 132 seats, while the Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party gained 57 and 41 seats, respectively. The Maha Vikas Aghadi suffered losses, with Congress securing only 16 seats.
