Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], September 24: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced a new subsidy on electricity bills to help economically weaker and middle-class families. This decision aims to reduce the financial burden on citizens and promote proper energy consumption. Special relief will be provided to consumers in mountainous snow-clad areas.

On Saturday, CM Dhami revealed that the government will offer a 50% subsidy on electricity bills for consumers using up to 100 units per month. In high Himalayan regions, this limit will be extended to 200 units. The Uttarakhand government is committed to providing economic security to the weaker sections of society.

Additionally, CM Dhami has approved funds for various development projects, including the reconstruction of the motor road in Champawat and the expansion of Pantnagar Airport. The government will also provide a 4% dearness allowance to employees working in corporations, bodies, and authorities from January 1, 2024.

Under the Chief Minister’s announcement, Rs 531.68 lakh has been approved for the reconstruction and improvement of the Chhinkachhina-Roulmel motor road in Champawat district. Rs 314.54 lakh has been approved for asphalting the Bangsheel-Goldhar motor road in Tehri Garhwal district. Rs 581.23 lakh has been allocated for improving and asphalting the road connecting Nyaya Panchayat headquarters in Chamoli district.

Furthermore, the Manoli Daboli Motor Road will be named after Martyr Assistant Commandant Charu Chandra Pathak. For the expansion of Pantnagar Airport, Rs 24.92 lakh has been approved for appointing a DPR consultant to prepare a detailed project report for four-lane work and realignment under NH-8 and NH-87.
