New Delhi [India], June 21: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu participated in a yoga event in New Delhi to celebrate the 10th International Day of Yoga. The event, held at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, was organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

Prominent figures such as Secretary of Civil Aviation Vumlunmang Vualnam and AAI Chairman Sanjeev Kumar, along with senior officials and staff members, also attended the event. The gathering highlighted the importance of yoga in promoting physical and mental well-being, fostering community spirit, and enhancing overall societal health.

Minister Naidu emphasized yoga’s role in improving life quality and building a healthier society. He stated, “In today’s world, we very well understand the importance of yoga. We have chosen the theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society.’ Yoga helps bring peace in our fast-changing lives. It benefits both body and mind. The civil aviation task is full of stress, and yoga will help to relieve this stress.”

Naidu praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for uniting people globally on this special day, noting that yoga is celebrated as a festival worldwide. He said, “Yoga has been popular for ages. It has had an impact on everyone’s life – on a mental level and a spiritual level. It gives inner strength. Our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has united us all through this special day. It is being celebrated as a festival all over the world. The way Yoga has been adopted globally has given a boost to India’s culture. Yoga is important in modern times as we are experiencing a lot of stress and not giving much importance to mental health. It is beneficial for our youth, who feel a lot of stress.”

Speaking about his new role as Minister of Civil Aviation, Naidu mentioned their efforts to connect the country through air travel. He said, “We have many challenges in this sector, but we are turning them into opportunities. Our goal is to connect the country via air travel – both domestically and internationally. There are many new destinations where people want air connectivity. Connecting them via air travel is a challenge but also an opportunity for us.”

Naidu, the youngest cabinet minister in Modi 3.0, also mentioned plans to reduce airfares. Participants engaged in various yoga practices and sessions to demonstrate the benefits of this ancient discipline. The event concluded with a collective meditation session, reaffirming the Ministry and AAI’s commitment to promoting holistic health practices among employees and the wider community.

Meanwhile, Minister of State of Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, along with staff members of the AAI, CISF, and various airline staff, performed yoga at the New Terminal building of Pune International Airport on International Yoga Day.
