UNICEF and Reliance Foundation Visit Odisha for Tsunami Preparedness
A team from UNICEF, led by William Hanlon, Chief of Field Office, along with representatives from Reliance Foundation, Kerala, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, visited Bhadrak district in Odisha. The purpose was to review tsunami preparedness efforts. They examined mangrove plantations and other initiatives aimed at protecting the coastline.

On October 29, Bhadrak district was felicitated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for its efforts after the Dana cyclone. The visit underscored the importance of cooperation between government and non-government sectors in disaster preparedness.
