Tragic Bus Accident on Lucknow-Agra Expressway: 18 Dead, 19 Injured

In Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, a terrible accident occurred on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway early Wednesday morning. A double-decker bus carrying 57 passengers crashed into a milk container at around 5:15 am. Sadly, 18 people lost their lives, and 19 others were injured.

Details of the Accident

Unnao District Magistrate Gaurang Rathi reported that the bus was traveling to Delhi when it collided with the milk container. Six of the injured were sent to a trauma center, while the rest received treatment at the district hospital. About 20 passengers were unharmed and were sent to Delhi.

Official Statements

Unnao SP Siddharth Shankar Meena confirmed the casualty figures and mentioned that five of the injured were referred to Lucknow for further treatment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced financial aid of Rs. 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 for the injured. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences and instructed the district administration to ensure proper treatment for the injured.

Condolences and Support

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared his sorrow on social media, expressing his grief over the loss of lives and praying for the speedy recovery of the injured. The bus was traveling from Motihari, Bihar to Delhi when the accident happened near Gadha Village in the Unnao district.
