Warning for Taiwanese Travelers in China

SEF Secretary-General Luo Wen-chia explained that since July, Chinese officials have the authority to inspect or confiscate electronic devices. Photos that include geographical information, are taken near sensitive areas, or expose certain documents could result in detention.

A recent incident involved a Taiwanese youth who was detained for three days after taking a photo at Tiananmen Square. The youth's "V" sign gesture altered the appearance of Chinese characters, leading to the arrest.
Counterfeit Goods Warning
Luo also warned about counterfeit goods in China, such as fake down jackets made from recycled feathers, which may not provide warmth and could cause health issues. Additionally, some feminine products in China were found to contain harmful substances.
Travelers are advised to check the origin of products and avoid purchasing online to ensure safety.
