Taiwan Detects Chinese Aircraft and Vessels Near Its Shores
On February 11, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence reported the detection of 32 aircraft from China's People's Liberation Army (PLA), eight vessels from the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), and one official ship near Taiwan's shores. Notably, 22 of these aircraft crossed the median line, entering Taiwan's northern and southwestern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). Additionally, two balloons from China were observed.
Earlier, on Monday, five aircraft and six PLAN vessels were detected, with three aircraft crossing the median line into Taiwan's southwestern ADIZ. On Sunday, 14 Chinese aircraft and six PLAN vessels were reported, with nine aircraft crossing the median line into Taiwan's ADIZ.
China has recently increased its amphibious assault capabilities with new naval equipment, including an advanced landing helicopter assault vessel and floating bridge docks for beach landings. The Taiwan-China conflict remains a significant geopolitical issue, with Taiwan operating as a de facto independent state, while China views it as a breakaway province under the "One China" policy.
