Singapore High Commissioner Lawrence Wong Celebrates Year-End Festivities in India
Lawrence Wong, the Singapore High Commissioner, recently participated in a series of festive activities in India. On Thursday, he performed a Ganapati Pooja as part of a year-end party at the embassy. The event included a lucky draw where prizes like smart TVs and boom boxes were given away. Wong expressed his joy in a post, stating, "Great to have our year-end party and lucky draw with all staff. 100 prizes, including smart TVs and boom boxes given out. Blessings. HC Wong."
Earlier, Wong extended Christmas wishes to everyone, sharing his greetings on social media. The Singaporean Consulate in Chennai also celebrated Christmas with their staff, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2025.
Wong's visit to India included a spiritual journey to Himachal Pradesh. He visited the Jwalamukhi Mandir Shaktipeeth, where he felt a powerful energy from the eternal flames. He also enjoyed local tea from a plantation in the region. Wong offered prayers at the Baijnath Mandir in Palampur and the Palpung Sherabling Temple, hoping for peace in the coming year. He expressed his admiration for Himachal Pradesh, stating he couldn't get enough of the place.
Additionally, Wong visited the scenic Barot Valley in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district, further enriching his cultural experience in India.
