Admiral's Cup Sailing Regatta 2024: Russia and Singapore Take the Lead
The 13th edition of the Admiral's Cup Sailing Regatta 2024 is underway at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, Kerala. The event was inaugurated by Vice Admiral C R Praveen Nair on Ettikulam beach. On the second day of the competition, four races were held in the individual category. Lt Gorkunov Petr Llyich from Russia and Second Lieutenant Darius Lee Kheng Wee from Singapore emerged as leaders at the end of Race Day 2.
The regatta, which runs from December 8 to 14, features 25 teams from around the world. Participants also enjoyed a presentation on India and the Indian Navy, followed by a cultural show highlighting India's diverse culture. The event coincided with Tanzania's Independence Day celebrations, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The final series of races is set to begin on Thursday, promising more thrilling displays of sailing skill and strategy.
