The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in New Delhi to participate in the 4th Strategic Dialogue and the 15th India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting.
Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, expressed that the visit aims to enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and the UAE. The 14th meeting was previously held in Abu Dhabi in 2022, co-chaired by India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Sheikh Abdullah.
In 2022, both nations signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a Cultural Council Forum. They also agreed on conservation efforts for the Great Indian Bustard and the Lesser Florican. The ministers are committed to achieving USD 100 billion in bilateral trade within five years and discussed linking payment platforms like India's UPI.
Sheikh Abdullah praised the Indian community's contributions to the UAE, while Jaishankar thanked the UAE for its support. Both countries plan to hold further discussions on consular issues, skills, and manpower.
