Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, will be visiting the United States from September 8 to September 10. During his visit, he will hold numerous interactions in Washington DC and Dallas, including at the University of Texas.
Sam Pitroda, Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, shared details of Rahul Gandhi’s first visit to the US after becoming the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Pitroda mentioned that there has been a high demand for interactions with Gandhi from Indian diaspora diplomats, academicians, businessmen, leaders, and international media.
Gandhi’s schedule includes a visit to Dallas on September 8, where he will interact with students, academicians, and community members at the University of Texas. There will also be a large community gathering, meetings with technocrats, and a dinner with local leaders.
On September 9 and 10, Gandhi will be in Washington DC, where he will engage with think tanks, the national press club, and other groups. Pitroda expressed excitement about the visit and the interest in states governed by the Congress party.
In the recent Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi won two constituencies but resigned from the Wayanad seat in Kerala. His sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, is likely to contest a bypoll for that seat. In June, the Congress Working Committee appointed Rahul Gandhi as the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha.
