Raghav Chadha Criticizes BJP Government Over Union Budget 2024-25
New Delhi, India, July 25: Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha has criticized the BJP-led NDA government for the Union Budget 2024-25. He stated that citizens pay high taxes but receive poor services in return. Chadha highlighted that the BJP secured only 240 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, down from 303 in 2019, attributing this to economic issues.
High Taxes, Poor Services
Chadha explained that a common man earning Rs 10 pays Rs 7-8 in various taxes, questioning the quality of services provided by the government. He compared India’s tax burden to that of England but said the services are like those in Somalia.
Displeasure Across Society
Chadha claimed that the 2024 Budget has disappointed all sections of society, including BJP supporters. He accused the government of imposing heavy taxes over the last decade.
Reasons for BJP’s Defeat
Chadha identified three main reasons for the BJP’s poor performance in the elections: Rural Income and Inflation, Food Inflation, and Unemployment. He noted that rural income growth is at a decadal low, food inflation is around 9%, and unemployment rates are high in both organized and unorganized sectors.
