The Punjab Government has taken action against Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Gursher Singh Sandhu for allegedly facilitating an interview of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi while he was in custody. Details of the Dismissal
The dismissal order was issued on Thursday, invoking Article 311 of the Constitution. Sandhu had been under suspension since October 25, 2024. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court found that Sandhu had indeed facilitated the interview while Bishnoi was in the custody of the CIA Kharar.

The order highlighted that Sandhu's actions severely damaged the image of the Punjab Police due to his misconduct, negligence, and dereliction of duty. His failure to adhere to discipline and conduct rules led to his dismissal from the post of DSP.
