PPP's Frustration with PML-N: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to Meet PM Shehbaz Sharif
The Pakistan People's Party (PPP) is upset with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government for not including them in important decisions. This has caused tension, especially with PPP lawmakers in Punjab and at the federal level. A recent issue about a canal has made things worse between the two parties.
The PPP showed their unhappiness by disrupting the Pakistan National Assembly's quorum. They are particularly concerned about a proposal to build a link canal from the Indus River and are ready to oppose it strongly. PPP leaders plan to meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss these issues, and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari may have important meetings in Islamabad soon.
Earlier, the PPP and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worked together to disrupt the National Assembly quorum. PTI stopped its protest on PPP's request before pointing out the quorum issue, leading to a joint walkout.
Meanwhile, Irfan Siddiqui, a spokesperson for the government negotiation committee, stated that no decision has been made about forming a judicial commission to investigate events from May 9 and November 26. This was discussed in a meeting chaired by Pakistan National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, with several key lawmakers in attendance.
