The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2025, held from January 8-10, concluded with Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi highlighting the state's global aspirations. Majhi announced the appointment of a nodal minister from the Department of Odia Language, Literature, and Culture to aid diaspora initiatives. He encouraged the diaspora to visit Odisha, promising a warm welcome and urging them to invite friends to experience the state's hospitality.
Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, praised the convention's discussions, which identified roles for the diaspora in India's development towards Viksit Bharat by 2047. Ritu Karidhal, a Senior Scientist at ISRO, expressed appreciation for the contributions of the women diaspora, emphasizing their alignment with India's vision for a prosperous future.
