NDA Leaders Meet Chairman Kishore Makwana for Justice in Tamil Nadu Liquor Tragedy

The NDA delegation, including BJP leaders Anil Antony, Arvind Menon, and MP GK Vasan, met with the National Commission for Scheduled Castes Chairman, Kishore Makwana, to discuss the Kallakurichi illicit liquor tragedy in Tamil Nadu.

They submitted a memorandum urging for compensation and justice for the victims, who are mostly from scheduled castes. The tragedy resulted in 63 deaths and over 150 hospitalizations, shaking the conscience of the entire nation.

The delegation criticized the state government, led by the DMK, for not taking timely action against the liquor mafia. They called for a fair investigation and accountability for those responsible.

Karunapuram in Kallakurichi district, largely populated by scheduled castes, was severely affected. The delegation highlighted the frequent occurrence of such tragedies in Tamil Nadu and the need for urgent intervention to prevent future incidents.

They also emphasized the importance of a comprehensive report on the incident and actions taken to safeguard the interests of the Scheduled Castes and ensure justice for the victims.
