Muslim Activist Magan Siddiqui and Hindu Groups Clash Over Madai Mosque in Jabalpur
In Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, Muslim organizations submitted a memorandum to the police about a dispute over the Madai mosque. Hindu groups, including Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, claim the mosque is built on illegally occupied land. Police intervened to prevent any escalation and have given 10 days to investigate the claims.
Muslim activist Magan Siddiqui, who is also a BJP leader, emphasized the importance of respecting the law and judiciary. He stated, “Today we have requested through the memorandum to stop the dispute that was created on September 26 in Madai Masjid, an attempt was made to spoil the atmosphere of the city.”
Assistant Superintendent of Police Suryakant Sharma confirmed the submission of the memorandum and assured that actions would be taken according to the court’s decision. He said, “We have assured them that whatever the court’s decision will be or whatever legal action is, the same will be done by us.”
Siddiqui stressed that the judiciary’s order should be awaited and that the situation should be handled justly. He added, “We just want to say that whatever is there should be just.”
