In Cairo, Egypt, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, the President of the Arab Parliament, highlighted the importance of developing the artificial intelligence (AI) industry within Arab nations. He stressed the need for strategic planning and allocation of financial and human resources to compete globally, while ensuring AI aligns with Arab cultural and ethical values.
Al Yamahi's remarks were made during his keynote address at the Arab Dialogue Circle on "Artificial Intelligence in the Arab World: Innovative Applications and Ethical Challenges." This event took place at the General Secretariat of the Arab League's headquarters and was organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Arab League. The event was attended by various diplomatic, academic, and specialized figures.
Al Yamahi emphasized that creating an innovative and sustainable Arab AI system requires collaboration between governments, academic institutions, and the private sector. He also called for a strong legal and legislative framework to balance technological innovation with ethical responsibility.
