Peru closes 91 ports amid massive waves

In Peru, huge waves reaching up to 13 feet are causing significant disruptions along the coast. As a result, 91 out of 121 ports have been closed until January 1st, according to the National Emergency Operations Centre. Many beaches in the central and northern regions are closed to ensure safety. Numerous fishing boats have been damaged, and those that remain intact are unable to operate due to the hazardous conditions. The Peruvian navy reports that these waves are being generated by winds off the US coast.
