Real Madrid has confirmed that French superstar Kylian Mbappe will wear jersey number 9 in his first season with the club. Mbappe, who is 25 years old and a World Cup winner, joined Real Madrid after leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He follows in the footsteps of his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, who also wore the number 9 jersey when he joined Real Madrid in 2009.

Currently, Brazilian attacker Vinicius Junior wears the number 7 jersey, so Mbappe was given the number 9. Previously, Karim Benzema wore the number 9 jersey and set many records for Real Madrid.

Real Madrid also announced changes in jersey numbers for other players. Camavinga will wear number 6, Valverde will shift to number 8, and Tchouameni will move to number 14. Arda Guler will wear number 15, and Vallejo will wear number 18.

Mbappe joined PSG from AS Monaco in 2017 and played 308 matches, scoring 256 goals. In the recent Ligue 1 season, he appeared in 29 matches, scoring 27 goals and making 7 assists. Mbappe has always dreamed of playing for Real Madrid, and after several attempts by the club, he finally joined them for the next five seasons.
