Bengaluru, Karnataka, India – On Tuesday, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar criticized the BJP for making corruption allegations against the Congress government, calling their claims “bogus.” He stated that the BJP is doing this because the Congress government is exposing corruption from the previous BJP government in the state.

Shivakumar, who is also the Karnataka Congress President, said, “There is nothing like that. It is all bogus. We are exposing their corruption that’s why they are speaking.”

Earlier, on August 9, Shivakumar mentioned that officials informed him about de-notification cases against Union Minister and Janata Dal-Secular (JDS) leader HD Kumaraswamy. Speaking at the Janandolana event in Mysuru, he said, “Kumaraswamy claims himself to be ‘Clean Swamy’ but officials have told me that he has 50 cases of de-notification against him. I will expose his corruption.”

Shivakumar added that the Lokayukta has written to the Governor about the matter and alleged that Kumaraswamy has “taken refuge in the BJP” because of this. He also accused Kumaraswamy of not allowing other leaders to grow within the JDS and backstabbing former Chief Minister Yediyurappa.

Shivakumar criticized the BJP’s attempts to destabilize governments through “Operation Lotus” and expressed confidence that the Congress would rule Karnataka for another 10 years. He highlighted the 2023 state assembly election results, where the Congress received 43% of the votes in 2023 and 45% in 2024.

Addressing the MUDA case, Shivakumar defended the compensation received by the Chief Minister’s wife for land lost to MUDA, stating that it was MUDA’s mistake. He accused the BJP and JDS of trying to manufacture a scam in MUDA while having 25 scams of their own.

Shivakumar concluded by emphasizing the Congress party’s fight against the BJP and JDS, describing it as a battle between good and evil, with the Congress party under Mallikarjun Kharge’s leadership fully supporting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
