Indonesian Armed Forces Shine at India's 76th Republic Day Parade
On January 26, Indonesia made a significant impact at India's 76th Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. A 152-member contingent from the Indonesian National Armed Forces participated in the grand parade at Kartavya Path. This contingent, comprising personnel from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, demonstrated Indonesia's unity and strength through synchronized marching.
The Indonesian personnel, dressed in honor guard uniforms, executed precise movements, showcasing military readiness and national cohesion. Their performance embodied the nation's motto, "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" or "Unity in Diversity," highlighting Indonesia's cultural heritage and commitment to national integrity. The contingent's display included national symbols like the Garuda emblem and the Indonesian flag.
Additionally, a 190-member military band from Indonesia's Military Academy, "Genderang Suling Canka Lokananta," added to the parade's grandeur, symbolizing Indonesian unity and military prowess. This year, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was the chief guest at the celebrations.
India's President Droupadi Murmu led the Republic Day celebrations, marking 75 years since the Constitution's enactment and emphasizing "Jan Bhagidari" or people's participation. She unfurled the national flag with the assistance of Indian Navy officers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to fallen soldiers at the National War Memorial before the flag unfurling.
