The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India has reiterated its strong stance against terrorism, emphasizing the need to combat it "tooth and nail." MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted India's position, particularly in response to countries promoting cross-border terrorism, in a veiled reference to Pakistan.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently addressed the issue of terrorist training camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He stated that PoK is being used to operate terrorism, with training camps and launch pads still active near the border. Singh emphasized that the Indian government is aware of these activities and that Pakistan must put an end to them.
Singh also mentioned that the people in PoK are being deprived of a dignified life, with efforts by Pakistan's rulers to mislead them against India using religious sentiments. He criticized the anti-India rhetoric from PoK's Prime Minister Anwarul Haq, linking it to Pakistan's longstanding agenda.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has also criticized Pakistan for its role in cross-border terrorism, which he sees as a major obstacle to the progress of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). He noted that SAARC meetings have stalled due to one member state's actions, but regional integration continues through India's Neighbourhood First policy.
