New Delhi, India - Indian shooter Rhythm Sangwan has been training hard with her coach Vineet Kumar for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. She expressed her excitement and confidence, highlighting the strong performance of the Indian shooting team on the world stage.
Rhythm secured her spot for the Paris Olympics by winning a bronze medal in the women's 25m pistol event at the Asian Shooting Championships in Jakarta. The Paris Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11.
At the launch of the Indian Olympic contingent's official kit in Delhi, Rhythm shared, "I am very excited for the Paris Olympics. It is the biggest stage out there. Very thrilled to be there." She added that the preparations are going well, and she feels confident due to the team's consistent international success.
Rhythm also mentioned the strong support from the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), which makes the team feel very backed up.
Rhythm is a rising star in Indian shooting, having won five International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup medals, including three golds. She also secured a gold in the 25m pistol team event at the ISSF World Championships in Baku last year.
Another shooter, Sandeep Singh, who will be making his Olympic debut, expressed his excitement and confidence. He has been training in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, and feels positive about his preparations and the support from IOA and NRAI.
In June, NRAI announced the final 21-member Indian Shooting team for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The team now includes eight members in Rifle, seven in Pistol, and six in the Shotgun discipline, with a total of 28 starts including mixed events.
