Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma Meets Bangladesh’s Adviser for Foreign Affairs Md. Touhid Hossain
On August 15, Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, met with Md. Touhid Hossain, the Adviser for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh’s interim government, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka.
During the meeting, Pranay Verma congratulated Md. Touhid Hossain on his new responsibilities and conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s good wishes. He expressed India’s willingness to work with Bangladesh’s interim government to achieve shared goals of peace, security, and development.
Md. Touhid Hossain briefed the High Commissioner on the current situation in Bangladesh, emphasizing the need to restore law and order and stabilize the economy. He thanked the Indian government and Prime Minister Modi for their support and expressed a desire to strengthen bilateral relations through more ‘people-centric engagement.’
Hossain affirmed the interim government’s commitment to ensuring the peaceful coexistence of all communities in Bangladesh, including minorities. He stated that the government is dedicated to the safety and security of all religious and ethnic groups and will not tolerate any violence or intimidation against them.
